Herman Cain dies of Covid-19

Herman Cain, the former, onetime GOP presidential candidate, and former CEO of Godfather's Pizza, has died from coronavirus. The news comes from an obituary sent from his Twitter account, and from Newsmax, where he was launching a TV show.

Mr Cain was hospitalised earlier this month, and according to his Twitter account, he was being treated with oxygen. It is not yet known how he contracted the disease. As a former Republican candidate in the 2012 Republican presidential primary, turned Trump supporter (co-chair in fact of Black Voices for Trump), Mr Cain was in attendance at President Trump's June 20th Oklahoma rally, seen in attendance without a face mask.

Trump campaign spokesman Tim Murtaugh has said that Cain did not meet with Trump at the rally.

Part of a statement from his official Twitter account today read: "You're never ready for the kind of news we are grappling with this morning. But we have no choice but to seek and find God's strength and comfort to deal".
