Rainè Riggs - Levi Sanders' Wife, Bernie Sanders' Daughter in Law - Dies

Rainè Riggs, wife of Levi Sanders and Daughter-in-Law to Sen. Bernie Sanders, has tragically died.

The Lee & Martin Funeral Home, in Burgesttown Pa, reported that she passed on Saturday, the same day that Sen. Sanders returned home from his short stay in hospital, after his heart attack.

According to her obituary, Riggs was recently diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer.

Riggs was a neuropsychologist, and was the director of neuropsychology at Dartmouth Medical School, and started the Palliative Care Department at the Dartmouth Medical Center. She also owned Riggs Geriatric Psychology in Windsor, Vermont.

She met her husband Levi when the two were volunteers at a food shelter in Vermont.

They had three children.
