Bernie Sanders is preparing to very soon announce his run for the White House in 2020. That's according to fresh reports from two annonymous sources, that have been involved in creating a video announcing his run.
Unfortunately, the video is yet not released, and we don't know when it will be, but it's a sure sign that the big announcement is coming soon.
Sarah Ford, a spokesperson for Sanders, did not answer a request for comments on the video. However, as Politico reported earlier this week, Sanders' team has been interviewing people for key staff positions, with Chuck Rocha, a politicial consultant and advisor to Bernie's 2016 campaign, expected to join Bernie again, should he launch.
Means of Production, the filmmaking company that made Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez' viral campaign video during November's midterms, have been in negotiations with the Sanders' team about a significant role in his 2020 play vook.
Further still, Our Revolution, the major progressive grassroots organisation that Sanders founded - but does not run and is separate from - has revealed its plan for its second stage of its efforts to draft Bernie into the race. The group has been leading an effort to get an army of Sanders supporters to convince Bernie that now is the hour. And to marshall the troops, for when Bernie saddles up:
“We’re organizing every day so that if and when Bernie announces,” David Duhalde, Our Revolution political director said in a fundraising email “our members and our groups can hit the ground running.”
We wait with bated breath. Let's do this, Bernie.
